OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Ocala and much of North Central Florida as dangerously high temperatures are forecast for Tuesday.
- Temperatures are expected to range from 95 to 100 degrees
- Heat Index values could climb as high as 115 degrees
- Heat Warnings are in effect from Noon to 7 p.m. across northeast and north central Florida
- Heat Advisories are in place for surrounding regions, including parts of southeast Georgia

Officials urge residents to limit outdoor activity, especially during peak afternoon hours. If you must be outside, stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and take frequent breaks in the shade or indoors.
Know the signs of heat illness:
- Heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea
- Heat stroke: high body temperature, confusion, unconsciousness. This is a medical emergency
