The conference will be preceded by an HR After Dark reception on March 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the same location.

Taylor, recognized as one of the 2024 Most Influential Executives in Corporate America by Savoy Magazine, is a leading figure in HR. “When it comes to all things HR, not to mention a professional lifetime in corporate and nonprofit spaces, Johnny C. Taylor is the undisputed leader,” said Tisha Webber, conference co-chair and HR director for Nash Plumbing and Mechanical. “To say that it’s a ‘great get’ to welcome Mr. Taylor to the Heart of HR is truly an understatement.”

Taylor will open the conference with a keynote on civility in the workplace.

The event will also feature Jon Petz, internationally acclaimed workplace motivational humorist, best-selling author, and magician, as emcee for the third consecutive year. “This is Jon’s third appearance at the Heart of HR and all I can say is if you’ve attended in the past, you know why he’s back by popular demand,” said Dale French, executive vice president of CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion and conference co-chair. “If you know, you know. And if you don’t, then you owe it to yourself to find out.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts, including:

  • Kate Beeders, Success Acceleration System founder: Navigating Difficult Conversations
  • Kenneth A. Knox, partner at Fisher Phillips: Top Workplace Law Trends
  • Chris Laney, vice president at Lightcast: The Rising Storm: Building a Future-Ready Workforce to Withstand the Looming Labor Shortage
