OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Dr. Allison Campbell, a member of the School Board of Marion County, has been named president-elect of the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA), the state’s largest professional organization of elected school board members.

Campbell was sworn in as president-elect during the association’s recent annual summer conference in Tampa. She will assume the presidency of FSBA on July 1 of next year, making history as the first Marion County School Board member to lead the statewide organization.

“I appreciate the upcoming challenge and opportunity to help strategically lead FSBA through the transition of a membership with imposed term limits—something we’ve never encountered before,” Campbell said. “I’m humbled to be selected, and I look forward to leading well,” she added.

Marion County voters first elected Campbell to the School Board in 2020 and re-elected her in 2024. She has chaired the Marion County School Board and serves on various committees representing her fellow board members.

No stranger to leadership, Campbell currently chairs the Central Florida School Boards Coalition, a collaborative body of 10 school districts that meet quarterly for problem-solving, professional development, and networking. The coalition includes the 14 following school districts: Brevard, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Polk, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia.

Campbell is married and has three sons, including one who recently graduated from Marion County Public Schools. She and her husband own A & A Campbell Group, a strategic communications firm specializing in brand management and relationship development.

A lifelong learner, Campbell earned her Doctor of Strategic Communication degree from Regent University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from Lee University and a master’s degree in Political Communication from Regent University. In addition, she serves as an adjunct professor at the College of Central Florida, Southeastern University’s Ocala campus, and Lee University online.
