Dirt Bike Driver Killed in Collision Near Newberry

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol investigated a traffic accident overnight on Monday, March 30, 2026, that left one motorcyclist dead in the Newberry.

According to the FHP report, the 40-year-old male cyclist was driving a dirt bike eastbound on State Road 26 just west of NW 266th Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. when an SUV traveling westbound turned left into a driveway. The motorcyclist struck the right rear of the larger vehicle.

A third vehicle, a pickup truck, was also involved the collision.

The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
