Belleview police department promotes Miley to the rank of lieutenant

BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – Michael Miley started his career in law enforcement more than 15 years ago, with the Dunnellon Police Department.

This week, the Marion County native was promoted to the rank of lieutenant by the Belleview Police Department, an agency he became a part of in 2015, for his exceptional performance and outstanding contributions to public safety.

The veteran law enforcement officer has served in a number of capacities during his career, including as a school resource officer, field training officer, patrol officer and patrol supervisor.

Miley has been recognized for his professionalism, character, integrity, work ethic, leadership and his commitment to the community.

A graduate of Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama, Miley obtained his Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration. He furthered his education by completing the Florida Leadership Academy through the Florida Justice Executive Institute. Miley has also completed a deep volume of courses in the area of criminal investigations, leadership and supervision.

Miley has been married for 13 years. His wife Lauren is a sergeant with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
