7 arrested in Levy County sex offender compliance crackdown

LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has concluded a month-long enforcement initiative targeting non-compliant sex offenders and sexual predators residing in the county. The operation resulted in seven arrests and three additional ongoing investigations, with arrest warrants already issued.

Operation Overview

  • The effort focused on verifying the addresses of 209 registered sex offenders and predators across Levy County.
  • Address checks were conducted by LCSO School Resource Deputies while local students were out for summer break.
  • Any violations discovered during these checks were referred to the LCSO Criminal Investigations Division’s Sex Offender Compliance Unit for further investigation.

Individuals Charged

Detectives ultimately identified and charged the following individuals with violating Florida sex offender registration laws:

  • Reginald Symonette
  • Percy Spinner
  • Walter Aldridge
  • Elijah Wood-Toher
  • Lawrence McDonald
  • James Foster
  • Robert Slone

Common Violations Included:

  • Failing to report a vacant registered residence
  • Not registering with the Sheriff’s Office as required
  • Moving without proper notification to authorities
  • Failing to report internet identifiers such as email addresses or social media accounts
