Join us for a live virtual conversation with Lauren Meyerowitz Port, Granddaughter of a Holocaust Survivor.
Lauren Meyerowitz Port was born in New Jersey in 1986. The granddaughter of an Auschwitz survivor, Ruth Krautwirth Meyerowitz, Lauren grew up learning about the horrors of what her grandmother, her great-uncle, and her great-grandmother endured. Based upon her grandmother’s notes, documents, and oral testimony, Lauren reconstructed the story of her grandmother, who passed away in 2009. Lauren holds a BA from the University of Michigan and an MA from Seton Hall.
She lives in New York City with her husband. Humanity in Auschwitz: Letters from My Grandmother was released in 2020.
