Showtune Shenanigans will play at “Free Fridays” special edition All-American Song Fest on Friday, July 5. This celebration of America’s birthday is held annually at “Free Fridays” on the first Friday in July.
Showtune Shenanigans is a duo that features John Lowe (piano/vocals) who is the director of music and organist at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and local actor/singer/ musician Will Winter (vocals/dance/costumed characters). For the All American Song Fest, the duo has added vocalists Hunter Henderson and Michael Ekbladh, and drummer Rob Rothschild.
Themed The Great American Songbook, the repertoire will include a variety of all-American songs including show tunes, Broadway hits, songs celebrating Independence Day and pop hits of The Beach Boys, Hall & Oates and Neil Diamond.
“Free Fridays” is presented by The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department and funded in part by a Tourist Development Tax Grant from the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in conjunction with the Alachua County Tourist Development Council.
