Silver Springs State Park presents the First Saturday Speaker Series, a free event with $2 park admission on the first Saturday of each month.
September’s speaker will present on the 1935 Big Scrub Fire, the fastest spreading wildfire in US Forestry history. Explore how a stand-replacement species like the sand pine found in Ocala National Forest and weather contributed to an unprecedented rate of wildfire spread.
