Boo at the Zoo is Gainesville’s favorite Halloween treat for families. The students and staff transform the zoo into a spooky but safe trick or treating event for the whole family. All ages are welcome to join in costume and trick or treat!
Admission to the event is one canned good or non-perishable food item per person. Cans collected help two charities – Saints Food Share @ Santa Fe College and Catholic Charities – which feed families in need from our community. **Please refrain from bringing canned goods in plastic bags.**
The zoo is scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in order to prepare and transform the zoo into themed areas with candy stations that will be decorated in themes from children’s classics and fan favorites. This year, explore the worlds of Mario Kart, Pixie Hollow, 100 Acre Woods, A Bug’s Life, Medieval Kingdom, Jurassic Park, Pirate Treasure Hunt, and Hercules!
In addition to the festivities and trick or treating in the zoo, @Fun4GatorKids hosts a KidsZone in front of the zoo full of community organizations with crafts, activities, and even more candy! There will be live entertainment, animal encounters, games, and food available for purchase at the event.
Boo at the Zoo starts at 3:00 p.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m.
Zoo Members – keep an eye out for information closer to the event about early admittance at 2:30 p.m. and the fast pass line!
