Mark the 9.11 National Day of Service by volunteering to help your local state park. Silver Springs State Park will have various volunteer service projects available to those who reserve a spot. Volunteers will be planting native species and performing trail maintenance.
Participants should bring gloves, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and water and be prepared to work outdoors for an extended period of time.
Please arrive at the campground entrance to the park — 1425 NE 58th Ave., Ocala, FL 34470 — a little before 9 AM. The Ranger Station will direct you to the service project area.
