The 39th Annual Ocklawaha River Raid will be held on November 4 and 5, 2023, and is hosted by the 1st Brigade, PACS Inc. Civil War Re-enactor/Living History unit. This Living History event
commemorates the March 1865 Union army raid on area plantations and the resulting skirmish with local Southern troops that was the only battle of the Civil War to occur in Marion County. This years marks its 39th annual event, making it one of the longest-running re-enactment/living history events in Florida.
The Ocklawaha River Raid is open from 9:00 A. M. to 4:00 P. M. both Saturday and Sunday. The actual battle re-enactments are at 2:00 P. M. both days. The public are encouraged to arrive early and tour the grounds and authentic camps before the battles. This is an outdoor event and the spectator viewing area for the battle re-enactments is large and open; chairs or blankets may be useful. Admission is a
$ 10.00 requested donation per carload. Various food concessions will be available on site.
