XpeakerBox

Rising from the ashes of a bandless pandemic, XpeakerBox was formed in 2022 when 3 friends came together to write original music. One EP and one full album later, they have enjoyed touring, playing festivals, and were ranked the 2nd best band in Ocala by Ocala Magazine in 2024. XpeakerBox is excited to build the music community here in Ocala Florida and beyond!

The Wind-FM Battle of the Bands will be broken into four phases: Submission Phase, Preliminary Voting Phase, Finalist Prep Phase, and Final Voting.

Submission Phase: February 25, 12:00am through March 6, 11:59pm. Gather your band and record a video no longer than 5 minutes. Upload it online at the Wind-FM Battle of the Bands contest page: www.windfm.com/contests. All videos will be screened by a Wind-FM staff member and must be 5 minutes or less. Upon submission, an email will be sent to the entrant containing a copyright release form that must be completed by the entrant and returned to Wind-FM before the video is approved.

The first-place band that won Battle of the Bands in 2024 is not eligible to enter the Battle of the Bands contest in 2025. Any band members who were previously in a band that won Battle of the Bands in 2024 are not eligible to enter the Battle of the Bands contest in 2025.

Entries containing inappropriate videos will be disqualified. Any video submitted to Wind-FM will become the property of Wind-FM. Wind-FM has final say of what content is appropriate for the website. No use of indecent or obscene material, no content that is illegal, contains nudity or is sexually explicit, or by law, obscene, profane, or pornographic is permitted. By submitting the video, entrant agrees to waive their right to privacy and publication with respect to their video and affirms that no third-party ownership rights exist to the video.

Audio, video, and images (the “Material”) submitted must be owned by the person submitting the entry. No one else may have, or can claim, legal rights to the Material. Any misrepresentation of ownership of the submitted Material, or legal guardianship of the minor in the submitted Material (if any), will be grounds for disqualification of the contest and potentially all future contests or promotions with North Central Florida Media Group. Entries containing inappropriate Material will be disqualified. North Central Florida Media Group has final say of what content is appropriate for the website and has absolute discretion over the eligibility of a Material entry. No indecent or obscene content, no content that is illegal, no content containing nudity or that is sexually explicit, or by law, obscene, profane, or pornographic is permitted. By entering this contest, you are verifying that you are the owner and producer of the submitted Material and that no third-party ownership rights exist to the Material. If the Material contains or depicts people, by submitting such Material you agree to have the rights necessary to consent or submit on behalf of those in the Material.

North Central Florida Media Group has the ultimate discretion over which video entries are selected as finalists. We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the band within the limits of the Finalist Prep Phase.

One entry per band. Submitting more than one entry per band will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize.  Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these Official Rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted.  Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.

Preliminary Voting Phase: March 7, 12:00am through March 16, 11:59pm. During this phase, voting will be open to the public. One vote per person, per day. Bands are encouraged to share their video from the Wind-FM website to obtain more votes. At the end of this phase, the THREE bands who have gathered the most online votes will be notified by phone on March 17 (via the phone number provided by the original video entry) as finalists and invited to perform at the Wind-FM Battle of the Bands at Brick City Beer &Wine Fest on April 19th. Each of these three bands will receive up to 14 event entry tickets.

Listeners can vote once per day during the voting round.  Voting is limited to one vote per verified email address.  If an entrant receives irregular votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source, Wind-FM reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion. In the event of a tie, a 24-hour voting period will be conducted with the tied bands the day after finalists are announced. It is up to the discretion of WYND-FM to make any tie breaking decisions.

Finalist Prep Phase: From March 17th through April 18th, the three finalist bands will be in their prep phase to perfect their set for the Final Voting Phase. Sets are 45 minutes and cannot exceed more than 50 minutes, and songs must contain no use of indecent or obscene material, no content that is illegal, contains nudity, or is sexually explicit, or by law, obscene, profane, or pornographic is permitted. Each band will be invited to the Wind-FM Ocala office to have their photos taken for social media/website exposure leading up to the performance. Order of band performance during the Wind-FM Battle of the Bands at the Brick City Beer and Wine Fest will be randomly selected by the Wind-FM staff. An odd number of judges will be chosen to avoid a tie.

Final Voting: On April 19th, the three bands will perform at the Wind-FM Battle of the Bands at the Brick City Beer and Wine Fest, exact time and details to be delivered to the finalists during the aforementioned Finalist Prep Phase. The final voting will be conducted by a panel of Brick City Beer Fest Community Judges, to be chosen by the Brick City Beer and Wine Festival Committee.

The Grand Prize of $100 cash to the third-place band, $300 cash to the 2nd place band. The 1st-place band will be awarded $600 cash and a fully produced recording of the band’s favorite cover or original song and a professionally shot music video from Recording Ranch in Ocala. The three bands will be awarded in the following business days (with details to follow).

This contest is open to all eligible Florida residents 21 or older. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of Wind-FM, and its ultimate parent company, Saga South Communications, LLC., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communications within a one-hundred-mile radius of Wind-FM’s main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate families include the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals from whom the employee is current legal guardian.

All decisions of Wind-FM are final and shall be binding in all respects. Entry into this contest constitutes permission to use the name or likeness of each prize winner for advertising, trade, and publicity purposes without prior approval and without additional compensation.

No purchase necessary. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. Winners will be responsible for all applicable state and federal taxes. Wind-FM’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. Wind-FM will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use any of the prize.
