Tickets are on sale for the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, Inc.’s String Orchestra concert on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30pm at the Reilly Arts Center. The concert includes Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, Serenade for Strings by Pytor Tchaikovsky, and Starburst a dynamic piece by New York composer Jessie Montgomery.
Tickets to attend this concert in person are $35 and $10 for students. Limited seating is available to allow for social distancing. Guests can also tune in to watch the live broadcast. About Starburst: This brief one-movement work for string orchestra is a play on imagery of rapidly changing musical colors. Exploding gestures are juxtaposed with gentle fleeting melodies in an attempt to create a multidimensional soundscape.

Open Rehearsal for the Ocala Symphony String Orchestra Performance:
Students and families are invited to attend the OSO Open Rehearsal, presented by Ocala Electric Utility, on Friday, April 9 at 7pm at the Reilly Arts Center. During the Open Rehearsal students will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the Ocala Symphony String Orchestra as they rehearse pieces in preparation for the April 10 concert. Snacks are provided at the concert and admission is free.
