The musical Pump Boys and Dinettes is live on stage September 24-October 25 to open the 2020-2021 season at Ocala Civic Theatre.
OCT’s 70th season begins along North Carolina’s Highway 57, somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, sometime between the late 1960s and the early 1980s. It’s a place that seems timeless and feels like home.
Upbeat and down-home, this high-octane, country-flavored musical features a rollicking score of songs about dimestore dreams and Dolly Parton, farmer tans and fishing for catfish. The actors all play instruments: piano, guitar, bass, accordion, and percussion–on whatever’s handy in the kitchen. So stop on by, pull up a chair, and sit a spell… it’s a fill-up of pure fun, with a good time guaranteed!
