Marion Cultural Alliance and Free the Ocklawaha present “Ocklawaha: Wild and Endangered River.” This multi-media art exhibit will take place July 2-18 at Brick City Center for the Arts.
At this event, you can explore one of America’s Endangered Rivers through a multi-media art exhibit featuring internationally acclaimed painter Margaret Tolbert, award-winning photographers, Paleo art sculptor, landscape painters and more.
You can enjoy opening day activities on July 2 from 10am-8pm. River guides, artists, conservationists and storytellers present virtual and in-person short programs at 10am, 11am, 12pm noon, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. Children’s activity kits about the river and its wildlife will be available, as will curbside pickup of free driving tour maps and virtual gallery/program information. While you’re there, take selfies with MCA’s new murals, and sign up for future river tours showcasing the Ocklawaha River (fee required).
Opening day events will be managed in a socially distanced manner with limits on numbers in gallery at same time, spaced out viewing stations, activities on the patio and face masks required. The drive through setup is available for those wanting to pick up a tour brochure, children’s activities, online program information and see the two new murals.
