66 year old Mark Okrent from St. Pete was arrested this week for arson after setting a fire in his apartment to keep warm.
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning was the worst of the Artic blast for Florida. So, around 3AM, Mark took a stack a paper and lit it on fire. Smoke detectors went off and the fire department arrived on time. Everyone was home… sleeping. But thankfully, no one was hurt.
Police said Mark could have done a multitude of things to stay warm. First guess on our end … turn up the heat?
