What better way to celebrate Secretary’s Day than with a misogynistic stereotype straight out of the 1960s, right?
In Mexico, they hold Secretary’s Day on the third Wednesday of July. (Here in the U.S., we have Administrative Professionals Day on the Wednesday of the last full week in April.)
And the convenience store Circle K’s Mexico branch was running a sale for the holiday earlier this week . . . on WINE and CONDOMS.
The ad they tweeted for the sales said, quote, “Happy day to all the secretaries. Celebrate with them the proper way with this executive combo . . . if you know what I mean.”
Circle K wound up pulling the ad and said it, quote, “deeply regrets the contents . . . which aimed to publicize an offer and never to promote any stereotype whatsoever.”
