Raymond Loring Chambers of Florida is a veteran of World War II and considers himself one of the lucky ones. He fought in one of the bloodiest battles of the second World War, the battle of Iwo Jima. He was shot in the leg but he kept fighting. After three years in the Navy, he returned home to the U.S. and left the war behind. He traveled with the carnival, met his wife, had children and grandchildren. Now, more than 7 decades later, he is finally getting his medals. Plural. More than one. Very well deserved.
